The Great Pillowcase Challenge

Before things start to get busy for our Coop member we thought we'd put our talents to a good use. We have decided to make unique pillowcases for 'Pillowcases for Oncology Kids'.


Founded in July 2011 by then 15 yr old Brittany, their mission is to donate pillowcases to oncology kids in hospitals around Australia.

The following businesses will be creating pillowcase for this wonderful charity:

* = Non member

* = Member of the Handmade Cooperative

We will share with you photos of the finished pillowcases as they are completed.


UPDATE:

Pillowcases are to be completed by the 19th February 2012.

• Anyone can be part of the Great Pillowcase Challenge - you don't have to be a Coop member
• POK asks that we make pillowcases that are a standard size, one suitable for both boys and girls of all ages, babies through to teenagers.   You can use a pre made pillowcase and applique it
• 100% cotton is preferable.
• There are 3 patterns that people have been using.  They can be found the the POK FB Page under Notes

When you finish your pillowcase can you please:

1. Photograph your pillow and send the photos to Christine Percy via cpercydesigns@aanet.com.au (limit of 3 photos - one photo of the entire pillow and 2 showing closer detail). 
2. All photos sent in will be posted on the HCH4K blog. It would be preferable that you place your logo somewhere on the photo. 
3. Also send me a little blurb about your creative process ie why you chose that fabric, what is special about the pillow and how it fits in with your business' style.  
4. Send the pillowcase to your State's Representative, see there FB info page for details.  It would be great if you could add a note saying this pillow case was donated by your business as part of the Handmade Cooperative's Great Pillowcase Challenge.
